Welcome to Juniata Township!
“I never knew that paradise on earth was so nearby…. where the water meets the mountains and the mountains meet the sky.”
From the art and prose of D Morgan.
Juniata Township is located in Huntingdon County, PA. According to the 2010 census our population consists of 554 friendly residents in 235 households and 451 housing units. The township covers 20.1 square miles. Of this, 16.5 square miles is mountain ridges and deep valleys and 3.6 square miles is water. We are, after all, the home of the deepest part of Raystown Lake and the Raystown Dam constructed by the Army Corp of Engineers for flood control. The township is literally split down the middle by an incredibly beautiful lake and the meandering Raystown Branch of the Juniata River.
